MadMen is our latest Netflix binge show. But really I guess it's kinda my show since Gary seems more into It's Always Sunny and I can't stand hearing ten seconds of *that voice* known as Charlie so I end up watching MadMen which is set in a 1960's NewYorkCity advertising world.
It was slow to get going I thought, but now I'm into season 5 and I'm definitely interested in the characters and seeing where the stories go.
And can I just say to all women who came before me and had the courage to go up against a man in a man's world: thank you thank you. I can't imagine living a life where men always thought they knew better and could tell a woman what to do and found a female's only worth in how cute she was in a skirt. Oy! Thank you to all the brave ladies. Watching this show has really opened my eyes to how far we've come.
It began as an educational summer project for the kids and now it's become part of life. Can I just say, in the singing voice of Kip Dynamite, "I love technology."

Day#70
Gary in his new handsome sweater, doing one of my favorite things in the world, giving me a foot rub.

Day#68
Planning to make these in a couple of weeks. Hope I don't forget (says the person that has had the same awesome April Fools idea for the past three years but never remembers to do it).
Day#67
Somehow I am three days behind on posting. So here's a Bob picture. He was sitting on my arm as I was sitting on the couch.

Day#66
Glasses shopping with Grant is always interesting. We did not walk out with a new pair. The office is going to order more for him to consider. These were my favorite.

Day#62
How we spent our MLK day:
•Gary went to work as usual
•the big boys worked on a friend's Eagle Scout project constructing shelving
•I got a haircut
•we took advantage of DQ's customer appreciation special. In other words, chicken strip baskets and Blizzards for all!

Day#61
Today us girls went out shopping around. We both agreed layering bras isn't something we loved. And Caroline found she is not a peperoncini fan.

Day#60
Sam at the Pinewood Derby. His car won one heat but no others. Still, it was a fun morning. Afterward he interviewed the overall winner as part of his communication achievement. I thought wearing the press hat was a cool touch and it was totally his idea. Wish I had snapped a picture of him with his little notepad and pencil.
Day#59
Tomorrow morning is the Pinewood Derby. This is Sam's car. It weighed in at 4.7 ounces at registration and the limit it is 5 ounces. He declined on the offer to glue on a quarter or two.

Day#58
I don't know if it's because it's finally a warm and sunny day or because I'm wearing my favorite shirt or because I just finished yoga or because all the kids are healthy and at school or because tonight's goulash night, but I am in an excellent mood today.

Day#56
Crack me up! Never imagined I'd see a Roomba type at Aldi but guess I'm not surprised this robot cleaner is $19.99.

Day#55
MovieMonday
Gary and I saw this Saturday night at the theatre and both really, really liked it. It was emotionally powerful for both of us, a sad story but with a good ending.

Day#54
Sunday night supper: pork chops, gravy, noodles, carrots, fried apples, and rolls. And meatballs for Sam.

Day#53
Today these two went on an outing to Plaza Frontenac and then had lunch downtown. Dad said he had a wonderful time with his daughter and can't wait for next month's day out.

Day#52
Today I rode with Jack in the truck. I asked if he had enough sunglasses. He said he only wears two pairs. The rest are Gary's and I guess one pair is mine. He said there's also four hats in the truck and I don't think he claims any of those.

Day#51
It's a bit cold for this picture to have been from today. It was actually taken during the Christnas break, one day when we went to St. Charles. We had fun, but we did not come home with a bike.

Day#50
This says $1.83. I didn't know until today that my phone camera won't fully catch an electronic display like this. But I do know I could get used to one-dollar range gasoline prices.

Day#49
Now that the tree's gone, there's a strong urge to rearrange.
And buy a new rug.
And get rid of the old couch.
And add a couple of cute chairs.

Day#48
Tonight's sunset was beautiful, more pink than this phone pic can render. (And now I'm caught up on my Days.)
Day#47
Aw, man, now I got to run to the bank. Why even send it? Well, it cracked me and even the kids up so I guess it's worth the postage it took.

Day#45
I had some Kohl's cash to use so we went shopping for Gary some clothes for work. This jacket was a cerulean velvet if you can imagine. It looks much darker in the pic and was more like the bottom pic.
We passed on it, although it did fit him about perfectly. But I don't think any amount of free would get him to wear that to work.

Day#44
Guess where we found the missing gift card finally today? At the bottom of the sixth bag of trash. You are welcome, Ross! [But to his credit, it was actually me that threw it away.]
