We hosted Thanksgiving at our house this past year. I loved it. Space for everyone to sit! A kitchen roomy enough for multiple cooks! The only thing lacking, that I knew of, was additional serving silverware. I need more big spoons and forks and pie servers. Or maybe that was just an unusual circumstance because of the abundance of desserts due to the first, dare I say annual? Dessert Contest.
Caroline was the winner with the most votes for her ‘Oreo/Brownie Ice Cream Sundae in a Wine Glass’. Unfortunately, I wasn't too handy with the camera this year since I was busy slaving over my own contest entry called 'Bowl of Grapes' (got one vote!), but here's a few shots showing the good times for both sides of the family. Two celebrations! Two great meals!
The Saturday after Thanksgiving—the honey baked ham and brisket feast, and I know someone (Ross?) has pictures of the meal and dessert table but not me, unfortunately. But here’s a pic of the card table. Having the little girls here was a blast. Actually, having everyone here that could come was a blast.
Thanksgiving Day—the traditional turkey and ham meal with my folks
We played Conversation around the table and I must say, a few memorable phrases came out of that.
wiener wiener, chicken’s dinger
was probably my very favorite, especially because it was my mom saying it. I'm laughing out loud right now just remembering it.
Another time one was something to the effect of:
Sam wants a chicken peck now (started by Ross, of course) and it stayed intact all around the table.
You know what I am most thankful for? Thanksgiving with family.
Great memories!
