So, another award

The High School Band banquet was last night and Grant received Outstanding Junior Award. I wasn't even surprised to be honest, but still was really, really proud.

He was nominated by his director and then accepted by The Ambassadors of Music to perform on a European concert tour this summer but is going to decline. He said he thought since he's already doing the Disney and Boundary Waters trips this summer, that would be enough travel. Plus he will have summer school and band practice/camp, plus scout leader, plus supposed to landing a job and deciding his college future.

Outdoor plants indoors

I moved them in for protection when I thought the contractor was coming back to work on the roof and gutters (but for two days he hasn't shown). I think the tropicals are relieved to get out of the 45 degree temps though.

Plant shopping with Ross

So apparently bugs don't read

And apparently the stink bugs wintered in the spray cabinet

So much more peaceful

This is pre-paint and just primer but it's like a different room

The last view of the red bedroom paint, woohoo

Almost took four years to attempt it but so glad it finally happened. Two coats of primer did it.

And this one is great too

Taken on Easter Sunday

Finally all six at the same place same time....finally a current family picture. Thanks to Grandma Barbara/Debra for taking it!

Happiest mug shot I think I've ever seen

No one I know but was in our town

New roof rainbow

Just wants someone to play Monopoly

Oops out of order

Fire pit flagstone fun

It was my job to finish it and try to get the flagstone gaps filled and level.  Which I found to be impossible as each day I went outside to work, things had settled/shifted. So finally I just accepted this as good enough and all we had to do was fill with sand and little gravel. If I ever do this type job again, I know next time not to fit the rocks so close. I think some space in between for filler material would have helped. But it was so fun to pack em in like puzzle pieces.

The fire pit has been finished for weeks

But like I said last post, it's catch up time. Here, finally mid-project and done with excavating mud

Catching back up as usual

The day we had to shop for a new kitchen faucet and started at Lowes and then had to compare Home Depot and then ended up back at Lowes, of course
