This is Ian Cole from Missouri, a 17 year old yo-yo dynamo (just say it out loud, it's such a fun phrase!) who is ranked 4th in the US and 10th worldwide.
He was impressive. I am thinking this may be the hobby for Grant. He seemed most interested of all the kids, and I think he may just have the personality to work at perfecting something like that. No pressure, Grant, just sayin'.
After quick hellos to lots of our friends who happened to be there, and after we picked out a few books and movies, we dropped Caroline off at her friend Kitti's house and then hit Sonic for an afternoon refreshment.
Another be-frugal tip: Sonic 1/2 price drinks
and slushes 2-4:00.
Yes, peach tea and blue coconut and watermelon slushies less than 2 miles from our house. Please, Gary, don't
ever, ever make us move! **
**Unless it is to 3005 Ash Road, Glen Carbon. Then that's ok. We'd be less than 2 miles from DQ and that I could substitute, I think.
Another Sonic tip: You can buy bags of their little easy-to-crunch pellet ice for $1.29 and it is the best!
You can see Jack and Grant's choices of reading material. All four kids are in the library's reading program and that makes mama happy. And after the show, Sam and Caroline's tickets were drawn and they won free yo-yos! That's the true Gills-A-GoGo style: go for the free entertainment and score something cool (not to mention FREE) to take home! And it is widely known that we need more toys in this house.
Signing off from the Glen Carbon library,
The Gills-A-GoGo
